A ransomware malware named “WannaCry” has been spreading on the internet since 12 May 2017. The malware leverages a Windows exploit to remotely target a computer running on unpatched or unsupported versions of Windows. The Videxio service has not been affected by this attack.
Videxio operates a 24-hour production service network and closely monitors the devices and resources for unusual activity and suspicious access attempts. Access to the production environment is highly restricted and separated from all other external and internal public services.
“To keep abreast of any potential threats in the software component of the service, we follow the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system that provides a reference-method for publicly known information-security vulnerabilities, and exposure and servers are patched with security updates when vulnerabilities are reported from the well-known industry sources and vendor announcements”, says Thomas Berger, Head of Engineering at Videxio.
Videxio service is not affected by the recent ”WannaCry” cyber attack but videxio will continuously monitor this situation.
